Surprise surprise, John Howard has been quite busy in the lead up to the 20th anniversary of Port Arthur.
Fuelled by his rampant holophobia, Mr. Howard recently sat on the graves of the dea- sorry, the panel of SBS’s Insight, to forward his opinion that guns are bad, and no one should have them, except his private bodyguards.
Not content with speaking about his failure to actually do anything about violence in Australia by enacting his utopian gun laws (pro-tip, they didn’t work http://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/S1359178916300258), Howard once again inferred that every gun owner is a lunatic waiting to snap.
We challenge any police commissioner worth their salt to make a statement about this. A former Prime Minister has just gone and record and said his laws were a failure, and in the same sentence condemns licensed shooters, vetted and approved by your police forces, inferring that they are responsible for the death of Curtis Cheng.
“”Once you give people access to weapons and those people snap or exhibit a mental illness, then you will have tragedy,” he said.”
Mr. Howard has just made a very provocative statement. Is he saying that the 15 year old was a licensed owner, who snapped, went into his safe, and shot an unarmed man? This is what this man is inferring about every single one of the 850,000+ licensed shooters in the country.
