Suppressor September 2023

Suppressors

Hearing is important. Not spooking or stressing out animals is important. Mitigating noise complaints helps keep ranges alive and active. Australian shooters need suppressors (also known as silencers, moderators, bang bang quieter’s).

Suppressor September is our annual push and drive to put suppressors on the forefront of firearm legislation in a bid to get them legalised for general use. How we do this is by sending the relevant minister a well researched letter than encompasses many reasons why Australian shooters require suppressors and why their legalisation will not negatively affect public safely.

To supplement this, we also run a letter campaign competition! Note: letters also mean emails.
Use the provided letter templates (below), or write your own, and send it to your representative to state parliament (usually a minister). This urges backbenches and those who aren’t the minister with firearms legislation in their portfolio to recommend this change, and hopefully if we can get a bill into parliament, a yes vote. This competition usually runs for 2 weeks inside of September. However, you can of course write to your representative at any given time of year.

Link to Letter Templates

As above, simply use our letter template or write your own, and send a letter or email to your representative to state parliament. Show us proof you have done this, such as a screenshot of the sent email with the letter attached showing the body and politician addressed, or your letter and a photo of dropping in the post box, and you go into the draw to win! Send this proof via social DM or to our email suppressor@firearmownersunited.com for it to be valid. If you are a FOU member, quote your membership number and name on the card, and you will go into the general entry and members only entry prize pool! Heaps of great prizes to be won.

Entries close: Sunday 25th of September 11.59pm AEST
Entries will be compiled, and winners will be drawn at random.

Firearm Owners United

Firearm Owners United was founded in response to the many hysterical voices crying out for further gun control in this country. We already go through so many hoops to get our firearms as it is. We do not need more hoops. We don’t need a mother/father figure deciding what’s the best for us. We are Law Abiding Firearm Owners, and we are sick of being treated like second-class citizens.
