New South Wales’ Parliament is currently taking community submissions for the upcoming Firearms and Weapons Legislation Amendment (Criminal Use) Bill 2020. You can find details on it here.
Whilst presenting itself as a bill designed to assist law enforcement tackle illegal firearm manufacture by creating new offences, the bill is written in such a broad way that it could criminalize many law-abiding shooters.

United We Stand
Dear Whomever
Australians . Legally licenced firearm owners are the most scrutinized group of sportsmen and women in the country.
We all have to have assessments ,phyaical, mental, and ,checks criminal and ASIO to see if we qualify for a license
We do this everytime we apply for a P.T.A
Dont you think once is enough everytimewe renew our license its the same .
Could licenses be extended to 10 years minimum .
As far as purchases go if we already have an A.B.C.D.E category firearm then you must have the opinion that we are ok so let us purchase what we can without so much unnecessary paperwork you know who and where we are already . And with so many mistakes comming up there has to be a better system, your staff could also have some commonsense training if my name is on the PTA you zent to me then it is ridiculous to send it back saying my name qas not filled in its there on the letter head
Cheers have a nice day phil walter
The bill provides penalties for possessing “precursor materials” for the making of firearms. That could mean that literally every item in your tool box would be unlawful to possess.
Got a few slabs of timber in the shed? A bit of steel round bar or a jar of old springs that you keep for those little jobs around the house? Some nuts and bolts, a bottle of Singer oil?
Well, guess what…
How the hell are NSWPOL going to enforce it, at any rate? What criteria is there for determining that the possession of such items, (all very common household material), forms evidence of illicit gun manufacture?
What we have is a political establishment of hysterical, pathologically paranoid, megalomanic dictators and marxist parasites who, rather than having the grace and humility to admit that their pre-1990 Kremlin-style gun laws have completely failed to disarm *criminals* for more than twenty-four years now, would prefer to flog the same poor old dead horse of enacting superficial, redundant laws that, as always, will have the greatest bearing on law-abiding citizens.
If Australians don’t wake up very quickly, I shudder to imagine what this country will look like in ten years’ time.
