F.O.Unity Re-Launch!

fouadmin July 20, 2018 Uncategorized 1 Comment

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Australian lawful firearm owners community needs now more than ever a strong activist presence to ensure that our sport and our culture is not gradually eroded through the increase of restrictions, and indeed by pushing some of them back. F.O.Unity is a Firearm Owners United initiative to address this issue.

What is F.O.Unity?

F.O.Unity is a grass roots initiative founded by Firearm Owners United, an Australian firearm right activist group. The purpose of F.O.Unity is to create a network of Australian law abiding firearm owners who are working towards fairer firearm laws and social change to end the vilification of firearm owners.

How does it work?

There are currently 409 State and Territory electorates in Australia and it is the aim of Firearm Owners United to have a F.O.Unity team in each. Each team will consist of a team Captain and as many volunteers as he or she chooses to recruit. Each Captain and member must be a financial member of Firearm Owners United and abide by the F.O.Unity code of conduct.

Each Captain will liaise with their respective State or Territory Primary representative in regards to developing strategies and activities to further the aims of FOU. Activities will include handing out “How to vote” cards for firearm friendly political parties, fundraising, letter writing campaigns, as well as any other activities that the Captain and PSR decide upon.

Each Captain will also have the responsibility of liaising with local elected officials, gun shops, gun clubs, etc. for the purpose of gathering any information that is relevant to our cause, as well as sharing information with lawful firearm owners in the area.

How much time and money do I have to invest?

F.O.Unity is not for those who are not committed to seeing firearm laws changed for the better or for an end to the vilification of firearm owners. The time required for an F.O.Unity Captain can be as little as 2 hours a week, depending on activities and initiatives being undertaken at the time. The costs of being a Captain will be kept to a minimum by utilising the resources of FOU wherever possible, however the cost of membership with FOU is mandatory.

There will of course be times when less time is required, however the applying Captain should be aware that there will be times when more time is required. FOU fully understand that many Captains will have family and work commitments, as well as sickness and vacation time, and will work with each Captain to accommodate these needs as best we can.

How do I join?

To join F.O.Unity as a Captain you will first need to be a financial member of Firearm Owners United. You can join online here: http://www.firearmownersunited.com/membership/

You will then need to email your application letter to us at admin@firearmownersunited.com

Your application will need to include the following:

  • *Your Name and Electorate
  • *Your FOU Membership number
  • *One to two paragraphs describing yourself and why you want to join F.O.Unity and what you can contribute.
  • A statement that you have read and understand the F.O.Unity Code of Conduct. This will be emailed to you when you send your application.
  • A phone interview will be conducted.

To become a F.O.Unity team member without being referred by a Team Captain you will need to follow the above steps. You will then be put in contact with your appropriate Team Captain.

Team Members referred by Captains are vouched for by those captains, and do not necessarily have to be members of FOU for the purpose of temporary volunteering. They do however need to read, understand and abide by the F.O.Unity code of conduct.

What’s in it for me?

For the more mercenary among us, there are a few personal benefits to be reaped by those who participate in F.O.Unity. The most obvious and important one is that you will be contributing to a movement that is fighting to protect your sport, your culture and your freedoms. Other than that, there will be rewards such as discounts on merchandise, invites to act as staff at gun shows, F.O.Unity exclusive competitions, and more.

So what’s stopping you? Join up TODAY!

Firearm Owners United

Firearm Owners United was founded in response to the many hysterical voices crying out for further gun control in this country. We already go through so many hoops to get our firearms as it is. We do not need more hoops. We don’t need a mother/father figure deciding what’s the best for us. We are Law Abiding Firearm Owners, and we are sick of being treated like second-class citizens.
