Unclear if it was the 9 iron or the 3 wood:
“An alleged burglar was badly beaten with a golf club by an angry homeowner on Sunday morning.
The 21-year-old resident called police at 1am on Sunday morning to report two men who he said had smashed a window at his house in Koorawatha, about 300 kilometres west of Sydney.
He then armed himself with a golf club and attacked one of the alleged intruders, a 42-year-old man, leaving him with serious injuries to his face.
The older man was then restrained by the homeowner who waited for police to arrive. Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene.
“A 42-year-old man was taken to Cowra Hospital in a serious but stable condition before being airlifted to Liverpool District Hospital,” a statement from police said.
The younger man was
taken to the Young Police Station where he is assisting officers with the
investigation.
Police are trying to
find the second alleged intruder.”
Surely there’s more to the story, but if we take this at face value then it’s a win for the home owner. Here’s hoping he isn’t charged if that is the case, but it is NSW Police and you can flip a coin on that.
A previous incident from earlier in the year in NSW, in which a homeowner killed in an intruder in self-defence, has disappeared from the news cycle. Last we heard, the home owner was not charged.
That trend needs to continue.
There’s absolutely no reason law abiding home owners can’t acquire non-lethal self defence tools, such as tasers and pepper spray for this purpose. Add to that legally owned firearms, although the current structure of both storage laws and genuine reason criteria prevent that from being a reality 99% of the time.
Both of those need to change because home invasions and violent crime will not abate and Police will never be on time to stop it either.
Home invaders, no rights,,,,You should have the right to protect you an yours,,my Daughter was murdered by home invaders,
