“World’s most liveable city” to get extra PSO’s to protect against terror attacks

fouadmin December 03, 2017 Concealed Carry, Daniel Andrews, Labor Party, Lisa Neville, Terrorism, Victoria 1 Comment

Along with overpriced real estate, virtue signalling and anti-Australian councils, it seems terrorism is just part and parcel of living in Melbourne:

Shopping malls and even supermarkets in Victoria will be patrolled by extra armed protective services officers to help prevent terror attacks, the state government says. The new PSOs will be paid by the Andrews government to patrol areas where large numbers of people gather.

“We’re looking very closely at this and we’re excited about being able to deploy those record number of recruits in new and different ways,” Premier Daniel Andrews told reporters on Wednesday.

There will be more information about the “innovative ways” police and the PSOs are deployed in the coming months, the premier said. The new system is designed to help “back up” police during heightened terror events, Police Minister Lisa Neville added.

The PSOs, who primarily act as transit officers, patrol train stations and have arresting powers in some instances, carry out drug searches, and help investigations. The changes were announced the day after Melbourne man Ali Khalif Shire Ali, 20, was charged with terrorism offences after allegedly planning a New Year’s Eve shooting at Federation Square.

In other words, the public don’t get to arm themselves against violent crime because our gun laws are tough, but we need more people with guns to protect against a possible mass shooting. Got it.

Where is the money coming from for all of this? Taxpayers, of course – another classic Labor spendathon.

Heightened Police presence during the Christmas period is nothing new and a bit of media beat-up, however this latest move is going to another level. This is also another part of a very concerning authoritarian trend in the state of Victoria and comes right after the indefinite detention legislation passed.

At 12 weeks, PSO’s receive even less training than regular Police although the firearms and defensive tactics part of the training is similar.

Let’s hope they remember their mags:

Feel safer already.

In the midst of a violent crime wave which Labor have shown they are hopeless at dealing with, this latest alleged thwarted attack is another example of a very obvious immigration issue, among others, which for votes and political correctness reasons Labor refuses to address.

As we’ve said before, it seems it’s only a matter of time before there is another serious event in Australia and the usual excuses of trading liberty for security will be trotted out. It seems Daniel Andrews and Lisa Neville are already well into the trading liberty part.

There is no reason that citizens that can meet a certain standard should not be allowed to concealed carry a firearm. In fact, Andrews admitting that there is an elevated terrorism threat has just made the argument for concealed carry in the first place.

The Czech Government has the right idea. Daniel Andrews does not.

If only Ali Ali had free footy tickets.

and….it will keep on happening unless and until some-one(s) has the guts and $the wherewithal$ to mount a serious, High Court challenge to these bodgie gun laws…..
(a good start would be to demolish the bogus “”Port Arthur massacre” narrative….and…a good start for that would be to hire a team of competent and experienced Private Investigators to ‘track down’ the not-dead Mikac kids)

Firearm Owners United

Firearm Owners United was founded in response to the many hysterical voices crying out for further gun control in this country. We already go through so many hoops to get our firearms as it is. We do not need more hoops. We don’t need a mother/father figure deciding what’s the best for us. We are Law Abiding Firearm Owners, and we are sick of being treated like second-class citizens.
