Cootamunda By-Election: Desperate Nationals attack then pay lip service to firearm owners

fouadmin September 11, 2017 MSM, National Party, New South Wales, News, SFFP 2 Comments

A series of ever more desperate statements have come from the NSW Nationals in recent days, completely fearful of an Orange 2.0 in the upcoming Cootamunda By-Election.

It all started last week with this Daily Telegraph effort calling Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party voters “angry white males disillusioned with the mainstream politics.” Ah yes, the usual racism and sexism when you can’t journalism – the sign of someone who is losing the argument. Also more than likely a sign of two “journalists” so over leveraged in the Sydney housing market that they are forced to write garbage like this for the Telegraph.

Speaking of Trump, have the Nationals not realised that you can’t abuse the electorate and expect to win?

This came right after outgoing Nationals member Katrina Hodgkinson made a “Nazi” reference via Twitter to Cootamunda SFFP candidate Matthew Miller.

Oh nein you didn’t, Katrina. Not sure if Nationals member or Antifa member.

The Nationals then put out this press release, after their national conference, stating:

“that this #FedCon17 acknowledges the National Firearms Agreement, and states that no further restrictions should be added to it without compelling evidence and discussions with stakeholders.”

What does that statement even mean? Does that mean the Nationals support further restrictions if it is “evidence based?” Are they referring to the current NFA or the original NFA, because the new one adds further restrictions on LAFO’s. In other words, “we support gun control if we have a valid excuse and there’s been some appearance of consultation.”

Pro-tip: You could have just said “we don’t recognise the National Firearms Agreement as it was never an agreement in the first place.” Not hard, is it?

Furthermore, do the Nationals really think firearm owners have that short a memory?

In just the last year the Nationals have rolled over on the Adler reclassification, rolled over on the new National Firearm Agreement, voted against all 50 amendments made by the SFFP against the NSW Firearm Regulations and in Queensland last week, opposed a motion by Robbie Katter to ensure access to Category H firearms for primary producers. You know, the bush, the people they are supposed to support?

And then there’s the treachery of Tim Fischer and 1996 but that’s a whole other chapter.

It’s a desperation move. As aforementioned, the Nationals are fearing another wipeout in Cootamunda over their abysmal track record which has repeatedly shown they are no friend of firearm owners and no friends of rural Australia. Paying lip service to firearm owners in the hope of snagging a few sympathy votes is nothing short of pathetic.

They’re also fearing losing another seat in Murray following the retirement of Adrian “bang bang” Piccoli, heading in to a cushy role with UNSW in true Mike Baird style.

The Nationals: 21 years and absolutely nothing to show for firearm owners and indeed, rural Australia, except being the lap dogs of the Liberal Party.

While some organisations think that playing the appeasement game with political parties that continually stab firearm owners in the back is the way to go, we certainly don’t. It’s time the Nationals were consigned to the garbage can of Australian political history.

You can send that message at the Cootamunda By-Election on October 14th.

We are firmly behind Matthew Stadtmiller of the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers and Fishers Party in his candidacy for the Cootamundra By-Election. Head over to his Facebook page and sling him a like if you have not already done so.

If you are in the New South Wales electorate of Cootamunda and unsure if you are registered to vote, head over here to the AEC website.

If you wish to stick your hand up for the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party and help in whatever way possible be it via donation, volunteering or otherwise, you can contact the party here.

Orange 2.0 is more than achievable and we will be doing everything we can to help out but you, the voters, need to ultimately make it happen – the power is in your hands.

I don’t get rural people sometimes… I’ve seen them leave comments at the end of articles saying “Why do city people need firearms!” Sometimes I even wonder about the SFFP too! Because Greg Borzak said he doesn’t like semi autos and like “we don’t need one.”

But yeah, we need to call out racism for what it is! White people need to speak out about that too!

That racist Sunday Telgraph link wouldn’t work. So I’ll post it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ausguns/comments/6xxkpl/shooters_partys_trumpstyle_approach_nationals/?st=j7iu5rvv&sh=11818888

Firearm Owners United

Firearm Owners United was founded in response to the many hysterical voices crying out for further gun control in this country. We already go through so many hoops to get our firearms as it is. We do not need more hoops. We don’t need a mother/father figure deciding what’s the best for us. We are Law Abiding Firearm Owners, and we are sick of being treated like second-class citizens.
