You’re a Nazi! You’re a Nazi! Everyone’s a Nazi!
Following in the footsteps of outgoing Nationals’ MP Katrina Hodkinson’s remarks last month, fellow Nationals’ MP John Barilaro has taken to the floor of NSW Parliament to launch an attack on both Firearm Owners United and the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party after a recent advertisement in the Cootamundra Herald got them right in the feels.
From Hansard:
“Mr JOHN BARILARO: In 2010, the Sydney Morning Herald published an article with more than 50 different sources that revealed this man to be a Nazi sympathiser, that he was responsible for racist graffiti, death threats and attacks on the Pitt Street Uniting Church. He has spread hateful propaganda on other races, calling them the major enemy of the Australian people, and that it is a matter which is certain to be decided by guns through national war and possibly civil war. This man is not fit to stand for office as the candidate for Cootamundra.
What is more disturbing is that yesterday Firearm Owners United published an advertisement in the Cootamundra paper and also online which talks about putting The Nationals last. That ad was retweeted by the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party candidate for Cootamundra and he thanked Firearm Owners United for its support. If we break that down, the Shooters are saying, “Put The Nationals last”, which means it will preference the Australia First Party and Jim Saleam, who is a racist, a bigot and an extremist. The question to be asked of the Shooters is: Will it preference the Australia First Party ahead of The Nationals, or will it continue the campaign of putting The Nationals last? It is more than that. It is not only what the Shooters do but what the Labor Party does”.
Oh joy, the “racist, bigot, extremist” card.
At no time have we or the SFFP endorsed the Australia First Party or any of it’s candidates. We simply told people to put the Nationals’ last. You don’t even have to preference the Australia First Party if you don’t want to. How you vote is your democratic right.
Whatever, Nationals. Firearm owners and rural residents in NSW deserve far better than the lip service, Liberal Party lap dog rubbish we’ve seen from yourselves over the years. Trying to smear us by extension is the sign of a desperate party that realises it is on the nose and on it’s way out of politics. In short, they are petrified of another Orange style result.
Well, your made your own bed.
This also comes after it was revealed that John Barilaro tried to get Helen Dalton to run as a Nationals candidate in the upcoming Murray By-Election, but she turned it down in favour of a ticket for the SFFP as well. And who could forget Troy Grant’s recent tantrum when called out by SFFP’s Phil Donato on the floor of the house?
By the way, where are the Nationals, the so called party of firearm owners, in the case of Albury farmer David Dunstan? That’s right, nowhere to be seen even in a Coalition electorate. Enough said.
Bring on Cootamundra and Murray.
The Nationals didn’t make their own bed, they crapped in it and are not willing to clean it up.
Now they are just trying to distract from the mess.
